The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Jennifer Krochmal (Duchess Kalisa Aleksandrovna) as Director-Elect to Seat C. She will assume this position from T.S. Morgan (Duke Tomuki) at the close of the October 2020 quarterly meeting.
Jennifer Krochmal is an attorney practicing in Washington DC. As a career public defender in the mental health division, she has dedicated her life to protecting the liberty interests of indigent individuals diagnosed with mental illness or developmental disabilities. Jennifer lives with her loving and supportive husband, Vladimir, and their feline companions.
Duchess Kalisa Aleksandrovna is a 14th century noblewoman from Pereslavl, now living near Norgorod. She has a deep appreciation for the talented artists of the Knowne World and is always interested in visiting merchants showing her their wares.
The SCA’s Board of Directors set policy and maintain the unified rules that provide the frame work for all of the SCA’s activities, both modern and game-side, and acts as the final arbiter when rule interpretation is required. Members of the Board make a four (4) year commitment when agreeing to serve (three-and-a-half (3 1/2) years after a six (6) month training period).
As new Directors are seated each April and October, candidates for the Board are continually being solicited. Individuals may be nominated by SCA members and participants or can be self-nominated. No special experience is required and candidates do not need to have specialized modern degrees. They also need not be peers – people from all walks of life are desired. To make a nomination, (or to nominate yourself), please forward a Modern Name, SCA Name, and email address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
