Society for Creative Anachronism

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) Inc. wishes to inform its participants about a change in the cost of event memberships, referred to in some places as the non-member registration, and how it will be implemented.

Effective April 1, 2024:

The non-member registration (NMR) for event memberships will be increased from $5 to $10 from April 1, 2024. This adjustment is necessary to support the continued growth and sustainability of our events and organization.

Action Required: Update Event Advertising

To ensure transparency and accurate information for our community, we request all event stewards and organizers for events occurring after March 31, 2024, to update their advertising materials promptly. Please reflect the new event membership rate (non-member registration) of $10 in all promotional content and event announcements.

Event Income Classification:

Prior to February 3, 2024:

All fees received before January 30, 2024, for events occurring after March 31, 2024, will be accepted at the previous event membership rate of $5.

Event membership rate fees received this period will be classified as “Prior to February 3, 2024” for financial reporting purposes.

Post February 3, 2024:

Fees collected on or after February 3, 2024, for events occurring after March 31, 2024, will be subject to the revised event membership rate of $10.

Acknowledgment:

We understand that adjustments to fees impact our community, and we appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work together to enhance the SCA experience. There simply is no good time to implement an increase of this nature due to the ongoing nature of our events.
