For those who may not know, the SCA, Inc. has been participating in the AmazonSmile program for the last several years. In the fourth quarter of 2019, we received a $1,295.47 donation from AmazonSmile (we have not yet heard the amount for the first quarter of 2020).
AmazonSmile is a very easy way for folks to support a favorite charity or non-profit organization. Amazon donates 0.5% of eligible purchases to your chosen organization, in this case the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc., at no cost to you.
It is easy to do, costs folks nothing, and goes a long way towards helping the SCA, Inc. cover needed expenses – especially during this time when no events are taking place. The donations go into our general funds for bills.
The instructions to sign up for AmazonSmile are easy. Go to smile.amazon.com and sign in to your Amazon account. From the splash page you can choose the Society for Creative Anachronism from the “Supporting” tab near the top of the page – that’s all you have to do. Whenever you shop at Amazon, start at smile.amazon.com; your Amazon shopping cart, Wish Lists, and other account settings will be the same.
Please consider naming Society for Creative Anachronism as your recipient of this very generous program by Amazon.
