The goal of SCA Armored Steel Combat is to recreate the one-on-one armored fighting that would have been done between knights at tournament, using rebated steel swords and period appropriate armor.
The weapons used are steel constructed longswords (bastard swords) and arming swords (broad swords and saber style).
To win a tournament bout, the combatants need to successfully strike a certain number of counted blows, or in the “Gallery” style of tournament, the winner is decided by the populace viewing the fighting.
