On April 22, 2025, at a Special Meeting of the SCA Board of Directors, the Board voted to remove Timothy Taylor (Timothy of Arindale) and Gabrielle Taylor (Gabrielle van Nijenrode) as the current Sovereigns of Æthelmearc, effective immediately.
The Board reached this painful decision after significant deliberation and advice from their Officers which determined that the Taylors directly disregarded a clearly communicated directive from the Board of Directors. Compliance with Board directives and the laws of our Society is fundamental to the stability of our Society at every level and a core responsibility of all officers, and particularly for those entrusted with leadership positions who report directly to the Board.
Society Officers are working with the Æthelmearc Kingdom Seneschal to support them in the next steps for the Kingdom. More information will be provided to the populace of the Æthelmearc as soon as possible.
