The SCA Inc. Board of Directors has appointed Sarah Chapman (she/her/hers) as the next corporate Communications Officer for SCA Inc. This volunteer position helps guide and strengthen how we tell the SCA’s story—supporting both our internal community and public outreach. The Communications Officer oversees the implementation of communication strategy (including social media), official messaging, and content coordination across the Known World, helping ensure a clear, engaging, and inclusive voice for the Society.
Sarah Chapman brings extensive professional experience spanning digital UX, nonprofit marketing, and social media management. Her career has given her a deep foundation in shaping, maintaining, and amplifying the core messages of the organizations she supports, balancing high-level strategic priorities with the daily realities of effective communication. Sarah prioritizes a calm and confident leadership style and works to foster trust and collaboration across diverse teams. Outside of her professional life, she is a passionate dog owner who shares her home with her two beloved dogs, Hela and NessieRose. She will also talk your ear off about bourbon!
The Honorable Lady Sarah Kettilswif, known in the Society as “The Bountiful,” portrays a 9th-century Viking woman. Her journey in the Society is deeply rooted in hospitality, community service, and supportive leadership, often channeling her energy into organizing vibrant household activities and supporting martial and arts events. She is an active member of the Viking reenactment household Red Hammer within the Barony of Flaming Gryphon as part of the Middle Kingdom where she delights in fostering camaraderie, mentoring others, and ensuring the hall is always welcoming.
