On July 1, 2024, at a Special Meeting of the SCA Board of Directors, the Board has unanimously taken decisive actions regarding the Crown and specific recognitions within the Kingdom of the Outlands.
Effective immediately, Tyler Rowe (Fjolverker the Red) and Melissa Van Hook (Melissa of Monster Hall) have been removed from their positions as Crown of the Kingdom of the Outlands.
After thorough consideration, the Board has determined that their reigns have been unsuccessful, and as a result, no royal titles may be conferred upon them from this reign. Additionally, Tyler Rowe and Melissa Van Hook are prohibited from participation in Royal Lists for the next five years.
In another significant decision, the Board has invalidated the elevation of Guy Kirk (Guy of Castle Kirk) to the Order of the Laurel. This elevation was found to have been improperly granted by the Crown of the Outlands and as such, the decision to invalidate it is effective immediately.
No other awards given during the unsuccessful reign have been invalidated.
The Board of Directors remains committed to upholding the integrity and laws of the Society. These actions have been taken to ensure that the Kingdom of the Outlands continues to thrive and that its integrity is maintained.
These decisions were reached after significant deliberation and with the advice of our Officers.
Society Officers are working with the Outlands Kingdom Seneschal to support them in the next steps for the Kingdom. It is anticipated that the Heirs will ascend the Throne shortly. More information will be provided to the populace of the Outlands as soon as possible.
