The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Krista Capps (Mistress Bricca di Ghelere) as the Director-Elect for Seat A.  She will assume the position from Director Aaron “Rusty” Lloyd at the close of the April 2023 quarterly meeting.

Krista Capps works in Human Resources for a large glass container manufacturer supporting the worldwide wine and spirits industry . She negotiates and interprets collective bargaining agreements with two different Labor Unions, strategizes workforce planning for the production facility, and conducts workplace investigations. Krista lives in the San Joaquin Valley of California with her husband, son, and what is left of her cat. They enjoy traveling and participating in the SCA all over the Known World.

Mistress Bricca di Ghelere, OL, OP, CBAR, is a 16th Century Northern Italian lady in the court of the Duke of Milan who moved with his daughter Bianca Maria Sforza’s household to Austria and then Tyrol after her marriage to Maximilian I in 1494.  While at the Court of Maximilian, she discovered a love of fashion and now is determined to be the best-dressed member of the Court.

As new Directors are seated each April and October, candidates for the Board are continually being solicited. Individuals may be nominated by SCA members and participants or can be self-nominated. No special experience is required, and candidates do not need to have specialized modern degrees. They also need not be peers – experience from every aspect of the Society is desired.

To make a nomination, (or to nominate yourself), please forward a Modern Name, SCA Name, and email address to [email protected]
