Hints For Makers and Users of Ranged Weapons
with guest editor: F. Hartfiel | Paganus Grimlove (THL)
The SCA ranged weaponry community is many-faceted. Combat archery, spears, javelins, and atlatl darts make themselves felt on the field of war. Range competitions feature target archery and a host of thrown weapons — axes, knives, and the like. Siege engines send their intimidating cargo over the heads of one army and onto the heads of the other.
If you have hints on the manufacture or maintenance of ranged weapons, ammunition, or targets, or if you have suggestions for range masters and tournament sponsors about scenarios and smooth eventing, send your contribution of up to 300 words to firstname.lastname@example.org by August 7, and it may be included in the 3rd Quarter 2020 edition of Tournaments Illuminated. If you’d like to include a photo, please write and ask for specs.
